2015 Toyota Avalon price starts at $33,110

New Avalon XLE Touring Sport Edition joins flagship full-size sedan lineup

Toyota announced pricing information for its 2015 Avalon, which continues to be the largest sedan in Toyota's U.S. lineup. The Avalon received its last major redesign for the 2012 model year, and enters 2015 without any changes to its still-contemporary exterior design. However, Toyota has tinkered a bit with the equipment it will offer in the 2015 models, making a few changes to the list of standard items.

The Avalon XLE Touring and Avalon Hybrid XLE Touring will receive a Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert as standard equipment. All gasoline (non-hybrid) models, meanwhile, will receive paddle shifters along with Sport, ECO, and Normal driving modes standard. All versions of the Avalon will also receive the second-generation version of Entune audio across the board. For 2015, Toyota is also adding a couple new exterior colors to the lineup: Celestial Silver Metallic and Cosmic Gray Mica, while discontinuing Classic Silver Metallic and Cypress Pearl.

Toyota will also offer a new limited-production version of the Avalon dubbed XLE Touring Sport Edition. Based on the Touring trim level, the Avalon XLE Touring Sport Edition will offer a number of luxury features including perforated leather-trimmed multi-stage heated front seats with dark blue stitching, an eight-way power driver’s seat with power lumbar support, a four-way power-adjustable front passenger seat and dark blue dash trim and center console accents. The XLE Touring Sport Edition will also offer aluminum scuff plate door sills, HID Quadrabeam headlights with LED daytime running lights and 18-inch black-painted alloy wheels with P225/45R18 tires. A unique splash screen logo, exterior badges and the Attitude Black exterior color are all exclusive to this trim. Toyota plans to build only 2,500 examples of this model, and will offer it from late October 2014 through March 2015.

The Avalon will start at $33,110 for the base XLE model, which represents a $695 increase price bump over the 2014 models; the new limited-production XLE Touring Sport Edition will start at $37,995. The hybrid version of the sedan has received a $665 price hike over last year's model and will start at $35,645 for the 2015 model year.

The 2015 Toyota Avalon is at dealers now.
