Could this be the most British Range Rover ever?

SVO PARTNERS WITH GUNMAKER HOLLAND & HOLLAND ON RANGE ROVER AUTOBIOGRAPHY BLACK

    With the creation of SVO, Land Rover's special vehicle operations division, we knew we would be seeing some uniqueRange Rovers come out of the workshops, especially now that a long-wheelbase Range Rover is available for order. And it didn't take long for SVO to produce a special edition of the Range Rover Autobiography Black, which is already just about the most exclusive (and expensive) version of the company's flagship that one could commission without going to an outside coachbuilder or tuner.

    We've known for a long time that the ideal Range Rover owner lives in on some kind of estate and hunts whatever game remains huntable in the British Isles, in addition to owning tall rubber boots called Wellies and wearing a lot of tweed. So it came as no surprise when SVO partnered up with gunmaker Holland & Holland to create a special edition luxury SUV, with space for all the aforementioned items.

    SVO started with the Autobiography Black edition of the Range Rover, which features a stretched wheelbase and first-class reclining seats for rear passengers. SVO chose tan-colored leather with Holland & Holland embroidery for the interior of this special edition, which features all the options one could select for the long-wheelbase Range Rover like electrically deployable walnut tables, enhanced storage compartments, a special lighting system, and USB ports. SVO also chose French walnut veneer for the interior accents, polished to resemble the oil-finished gunstocks that the gunmaker is famous for. Holland & Holland's expert engravers have also contributed their art to the center console and the internal door handles, which feature the gunmaker's brand-defining acanthus scroll.

    And of course, the Holland & Holland Range Rover features a custom created gun cabinet system in the back, with a leather-trimmed aluminium loadspace. The cabinet's Alcantara-trimmed interior has been specially designed to carry two Holland & Holland shotguns, and the cabinet has been made to be removable to increase luggage space when needed.

    On the outside, the Holland & Holland Range Rover will be set apart by a special dark green exterior color, a unique grille design, the gunmaker's badging, and additional chrome highlights for the exterior.

"This shows the huge potential of SVO, which encapsulates both off- and on-road performance as well as luxury and craftsmanship."

    Range Rover plans to build just 40 examples of the Holland & Holland edition, and we have trouble seeing them being offered in places other than the British Isles. The company plans to offer the Range Rovers with a choice of a 4.4-liter SDV8 diesel or a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 gas engine. Pricing in the U.K. will start at £180,000, which translates into (brace for it) approximately $287,000.
