Porsche Aerokit makes 911 Turbo and Turbo S stickier

GET MORE DOWNFORCE FROM YOUR LOCAL DEALER

Porsche Exclusive is offering a new aerokit for 911 Turbo models. The company says function was a top priority, along with aesthetics -- the goal was to improve handling by further increasing downforce, while preserving the same coefficient of drag.

The Aerokit Turbo includes a new front spoiler, redesigned rear decklid with a fixed rear spoiler and winglets and front side fins.

Porsche tested the kit on its track in Weissach, Germany and in the wind tunnel. The total downforce generated by the 911 Turbo with the Aerokit at 186 mph on the track was increased by 37 pounds, to 57 pounds, in the Speed setting, and by 40 pounds, to 331 pounds, in the Performance setting.

The Aerokit can be ordered in body color or high-gloss black. The standard side skirts and rear fascia can also be painted to match.

The Aerokit will be available for the 911 Turbo and 911 Turbo S models through Porsche Exclusive, or it can be retrofitted by a Porsche dealer. MSRP is expected to be $6,950 when ordering a car new, $6,886 -- excluding paint, assembly and installation -- when added by a dealer.
