CHEVY PLANS ONLY 500 EXAMPLES OF COLLECTIBLE C7 CORVETTE COUPE

When Chevrolet does just 500 of any kind of new Corvette, you can bet it becomes a collector’s item. The latest is the 2016 Corvette Z06 C7.R Edition – a car Chevy calls a “road-going, track-capable homage to the Corvette Racing C7.R race cars.”
It comes in Corvette Racing’s yellow livery –- or black –- and yes, just 500 are coming “later this year,” according to Chevrolet.

Both coupes and convertibles are available and have the Z07 Performance Package, so that means Brembo carbon ceramic brakes, adjustable front and rear aero pieces and Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup 2 tires. Other goodies include yellow brake calipers, black wheels with yellow accents and Corvette Racing-logo center caps and a carbon-fiber ground effects package.

GM’s 650-hp supercharged V8 powers the car and magnetic-ride control and performance-tuned traction control are standard.
