Lotus Evora 400

186-MPH TOP SPEED HAS COMPANY SCREAMING 'SUPERCAR!'

Lotus will not go gentle into that good night. The plucky Brits from Hethel revealed the price of the new Lotus Evora 400 on Monday. It will start at $89,900 in the United States; that price excludes local taxes. The Evora 400 will get a supercar-like top speed of 186 mph, using its mid-mounted 3.5-liter V6. Output is rated at 400 hp and 302 lb-ft of torque. Both a manual and automatic transmission will be offered.

Standard features will include composite two-piece brake discs from AP Racing, a limited-slip differential, air conditioning and an infotainment system with navigation. An automatic transmission adds 2,000 British pounds -- prices will be a little different here -- Alcantara or leather adds 2,500 British pounds and metallic paint is 900 British pounds.

Lotus will also offer the Black Pack option for 1,250 pounds, which includes a black gloss roof, sills, center section of the wing and a dark headliner inside. Lightweight wheels add 2,000 pounds and yellow or black calipers are 300 apiece.

“The Evora 400 is the fastest road-going Lotus that we have ever produced,” said Jean-Marc Gales, CEO, Group Lotus. “It delivers supercar looks allied to supercar performance, and our global dealer network of dealers is excited to be able to deliver this high-performing benchmark-handling supercar to the ever-growing customer waiting list.”

Worldwide deliveries start in August, except for North America, which will get the car in December.
