2015 Ford Mustang convertible headed to dealers

FORD CLAIMS COLD WEATHER FEATURES MAKE NEW MUSTANG A FOUR-SEASON CAR

The 2015 Ford Mustang convertible is on its way to dealerships …just in time for the worst of winter. If, like us, you're in the Snowbelt, fear not: The new Mustang offers remote start and heated seats, as well as selectable drive modes like “snow/wet.”

Heated seats are standard on the premium-trim convertibles, while remote start comes standard on all automatic-transmission Mustangs. Ford says that the function doesn’t just warm the engine; it also warms the car to a comfortable temperature.

“Mustangs are made for year-round practicality and enjoyment,” said Melanie Banker, Mustang brand manager, “so it’s exciting that customers are taking delivery of their convertible Mustang models -- regardless of the season.”
The convertible Mustang comes in the same three engine flavors as the coupe. The base model gets a 3.7-liter V6 making 300 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. The 2.3-liter EcoBoost I4 is the next step up, delivering 310 hp and 320 lb-ft. The 5.0-liter Coyote V8 in the GT makes 435 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque. Manual transmissions are standard all around; six-speed automatics are optional.

The 2015 Mustang V6 convertible starts at $29,100, while its main competitor, the convertible V6 Camaro, starts at $32,200.
