Celebrates 51-year-old win of French automobile race
Ferrari showed up at the 2015 Dream Cars Show in Brussels, Belgium, last week, unveiling another stunner from its Tailor-Made program called the F12 Berlinetta Tour de France 64.
The Ferrari was displayed courtesy of the company and official Ferrari dealer Francorchamps Motors. It pays homage to the Ecurie Francorchamps team that won the Tour de France automobile race in 1964 with a 250 GTO. Lucien Bianchi and Georges Berger were the drivers.
The F12 wears a coat of argento auteil paint -- we call it gray -- with a Modena yellow stripe across the hood. Ferrari says it’s a modern take on the original.
The interior is mostly black with tobacco brown leather. Ferrari also uses a new material called SuperFabric, “a tough, super-grippy material featuring a 3-D design,” on the floor mats and trim.
Like the standard F12 Berlinetta, the Tour de France houses a 6.3-liter V12 delivering 730 hp at 8,250 rpm and 509 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Adjustable, magnetorheological dampers keep things planted in the pavement.
Remember, this is another one-off for Ferrari and they'll build a car to your specifications too, if you've got the cash. The base F12 is about $320,000; rest assured this one costs more than that.
