McLaren reveals more about the 675LT before Geneva auto show

LIGHTWEIGHT ALUMINUM EXHAUST PEEKS OUT IN PICTURES

McLaren dropped a few more details about the 675LT supercar that will debut at the Geneva auto show, along with anotherteaser shot.

The 675 Longtail will deliver 516 lb-ft of twist to go along with its 666 hp. Max torque will be available at 5,500 rpm in second gear and on. First-gear launches will work with 443 lb-ft.

The 675LT gets a redesigned crossover exhaust system hewn from lightweight aluminum. It was designed to optimize performance and reduce weight, according to McLaren. Two round pipes exit through the bodywork under the Longtail’s airbrake. That brake, along with the 675LT’s new bodywork, contributes to a reported 40 percent increase in overall downforce.

The new car will be part of the company’s Super Series of cars, which includes the 650S Coupe and Spider. All three will sit above the Sports Series selection of cars, which will be revealed later.

We’ll get more details on the car in a month at the Geneva motor show, or maybe a few teaser shots in the coming weeks. Either way, we’ll be following this one closely.
